Kervon Daktis is an outlier among the warlords of the zashani. Earning his epithet of “the Skulltaker” as a frighteningly effective pirate hunter, he is lord of a group of zashani known as the “Kodathargo”. Kervon established himself a small empire with a selection of his kind on the outer fringes of the Sublime Imperium, where his personal mission has been to establish a haven for his kind should they risk extinction.

The old Lord Commander chose him for his loyalty, sense of duty and his competence to lead the Kodathargo, to represent the zashani in imperial space. That same competence now aspires for his kind to become like the draknir. Believing that will not only make them thrive, but evolve. Their ideas of supremacy by strength, of might making right, and creating a crucible out of lawless space are not only old fashioned, they actively set his kinde on the path of extinction. To avoid that, Kervon has concluded, the zashani must adopt draknid ideas, draknid philosophy and culture. Te Sublime Imperium is the way forward instead of continuing the past.
