My name is Mark Stamp, I started Star Drake after graduating from university with a BA in Computer Animation Arts in 2017. Initially I set up the studio as a showcase for private commission work from friends and things I had designed for my own work.
I would say I’ve been enamoured with fantasy and wild worlds ever since I was in my late teens when I started writing short stories among friends. This gained me something of a reputation as I was often the more methodical one. Eventually, people in the community started coming to me asking for advice on how to improve their own imagined settings.
Why did I choose to start drawing and painting professionally? In all honestly, I wanted to really see what I was dreaming up in those short stories. In my twenties, after gaining a diploma in applied science, I took up art to exercise the exotic worlds and societies I was writing about. At the time I had been experimenting with creature and location design using all kinds of 3D software to do it. So when it comes to the medium I work in, I have dabbled in a bit of everything to find what I am best at. As a result, I’ve come to understand a bit of everything.
Star Drake is a creative design studio with one defining mission: Ideas are a penny a dozen. Everyone’s got them, but not everyone is entirely sure how to bring them to life. If you have an idea; as small as a portrait or as big as a world, how do you go about making it?
To me, possible is about how an idea can become reality. Everyone has a story to tell. An encounter at work, a dream, a flight of fancy. There should be no shame in exploring these imagined ideas. Do you have a story you want to tell for friends or the world? Star Drake knows stories.I love stories, love characters, and I like new ideas. The more stories that exist, the richer the world becomes.
Above all things, Star Drake Creative Projects is a house all about quality. Execution with excitement is paramount in my line of work. Any idea I hear, I want it to be the best it can possibly be.
